Repeat Prescriptionsblue_yellow

The Dovecot Surgery does not take requests for repeat prescription items over the telephone. However, many pharmacies in the area are willing to offer this service to patients upon request.  Most Pharmacies also offer a delivery service upon request.

The preferred method of ordering repeat medication is by use of the right hand, copy section of your prescription.  Simply tick the items required and hand them in at our reception counter.  There is a drop in box available if you do not wish to wait. If you do not have the copy section of your script any requests must include full details of the medication you require, i.e. name, strength, dose and frequency.

Request can be made by post and if you include a stamped, addressed envelope we will post out your prescription to you.

Alternatively you can order online via the link at the top of this page. New users are required to complete a simple registration prior to using the service.

We require 48 working hours to process repeat prescription requests and the clock doesn't start ticking until we actually receive the request here. Patients using a third party such as a pharmacy may need to allow a little more time for processing at the pharmacy end.

Acute Prescriptions

Items that are not prescribed regularly or are newly prescribed can be requested from reception either in person or over the telephone by calling 01642 676520.  Such items will only be prescribed at the doctor's discretion and may require the patient to provide evidence of need such as a hospital discharge letter, actual packaging that provides details of the strength, dose and frequency.

The reception team are happy to assist patients in obtaining such information from hospitals or from a previous GP.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
