Doctors

Dr Shilpa Garud

MBBS, MRCGP, DFFP

Dr Garud qualified from Mumbai University, India in 1995 specialising in Anaesthetics.  She joined Cleveland GP Training Scheme in 2003 and afterwards joined Ferryhill & Chilton Medical practice as a Salaried GP.

Dr Garud has a special interest in Women and Children's Health as well as Pain management, particularly for Palliative Care patients. She also teaches 2nd year medical students at Durham University.

Dr Garud is married with two sons and her husband is a Consultant Surgeon at the Friarage Hospital.

Dr Girish Chawla (m)

MBBS, MRCGP, MRCSEd, PGA(Med Education)

Dr Chawla joined the surgery in October 2014.  He brings with him some great experience from working in another area which will allow us to develop and expand the services we offer.  He has an interest in mentall health and childrens services as well as minor surgery.

Dr Chawla is married with 2 children.
